The Liszt&Wine Tour takes you closer to the amazing personality of Liszt through visiting spots related to his life in Budapest, followed by tasting excellent Hungarian wines. Enjoy this unique intellectual and culinary tour in the footsteps of Liszt who truly admired the music, wine, and gastronomy of Hungary.

The Liszt&Wine Walking Tour package includes

  • a 2-hour walking tour of 10 stops in the city center to bring you some highlights of the Liszt-related classical musical memories of Budapest, followed by 
  •  a 2-hour wine tasting event in the Tasting Table wine bar, home to excellent Hungarian wines.

The 2-hour walking tour will introduce you the outstanding figure of Hungarian music and cultural history, the internationally renowned musician, piano virtuoso, and composer Franz Liszt while visiting spots connected to him. With the help of small stories, surprising titbits of information, or legends you will get familiar with his life and oeuvre. You can get closer to his multifaceted character i.e.: the virtuoso, the deep Christian thinker, the teacher & school-founder, the composer, and his Hungarian roots. Liszt’s art and personality will be presented in an international context while highlighting his deep connection to his homeland, Hungary. The walk ends in the Tasting Table Wine Cellar & Bar, a bar led by a Hungarian wine expert Gabor and his American gastronomy expert wife Carolyn, the author of Food Wine Budapest book, whose mission is to showcase Hungarian wine and culinary culture

The 2-hour sommelier-led wine tasting event features a carefully curated selection of eight (summer edition*) great Hungarian wines, among them the famous Tokaji Aszú. The event distills the wide range of Hungarian wine into a comprehensible story for you to get a good overview. Food pairings are served for each wine. 
The Spring/Summer edition (1 April – 14 October) accommodates the “Essentials of Hungarian Wine” tasting exhibiting a selection of 8 different wines (for further details please, consult the INFOSHEET).

Please, bear in mind when considering booking this tour that it is against the  Hungarian law to serve alcohol to people under 18.  The size of the group is intentionally left small, i.e. no more than 15 people can join
